Latest Acquisition – Posh Pennsylvania Victorian

We’ve still been acquiring lots of neat stuff from old buildings prior to demolition. One of our latest acquisitions is from our own town of Scranton, PA – this building owned by the University was once one of the old coal baron’s estates who did not skimp when it came to designing and constructing this fine home. Hand carved oak leaf moldings – Queen Anne windows throughout, minton tile surrounds – solid cherry pocked doors – parlor doors – full paneled rooms in oak, mahogany and cherry. Great old stuff. We’re working on getting this uploaded to our webstore as we write this – but if you have any inquiries in the meantime – feel free to email us and we’ll get you the information. Grand Opening – New Upper West Side Manhattan Store

All the same great altered antique merchandise you are used to seeing at our Chelsea and Union Square locations including our
hand-crafted tin mirrors and wall panels and our unique line of farm
tables and benches. You will also find a unique selection of antiques and architectural items – furniture, statuary, lighting, mirrors, original hardware and much more! The neighbors there are real friendly and many have seen us at the Green Flea at 77th & Columbus for years – we are getting a warm welcome to the neighborhood as well as meeting many new customers who are only now introduced to us for the first time. Opening Ceremony

Clockface Headboard

We always love it when a customer sends us a photo of the good things they’ve created. This customer used the face of a clock we got from a church tower in Brooklyn, and used it for a headboard on her bed. Very creative use of time. Originally there were of these faces on this tower built in 1899, but we only have one left that can be seen at our Olympic Ave location in Los Angeles.

The Collective

It’s always good to see people seeking slavaged goods to use for projects; it’s one of the reason we are in business. It’s even better to see a place like The Collective where everything olde is being reused. Robert DelPazzo and ICRAVE Design created a unique space that takes reclaimed items to an all new level of creativity, “The project was all about finding vintage pieces from all over and repurposing/reviving them!!” They did exactly that and you can see it for yourself in these pictures or stop by the Collective for a bite.
